Fire: Too Close For Comfort

The horse trailer is hitched.
The horses are haltered and ready to go.

We are not in immediate danger.
But it is too close for comfort!

The evacuation area is growing.

It will depend on the wind.

Hot, dry, and windy in Colorado.

Here we go again.

  7. Stay safe. We have a big one about 25 miles away from us, but it is up in the timber. I see the smoke every morning and afternoon. It isn't controlled yet as there are few roads up there.

  8. Thanks All. We are still outside the evacuation zone, but can see the flames from our house. The wind has been in our favor, but we have many friends who are evacuated and a few who have lost homes. One of those families had to open gates and let their horses loose. There was a parade of horse trailers on the road last night. Our power is out, so I've run into my office to check email and take a shower. Our well pump is out too, but we have containers of water for the horses. I'm supposed to leave on vacation, but will likely cancel my plans.
